Running Catholic, Protestant or Islamic schools under one authority
A faith-based school has an identity to respect, an authority that follows several schools at once and the same syllabuses as every other school. Sahel EDU, software for faith-based schools, gives each school its own address, name, logo and data, while letting people, transfers and honour rankings move within the network.
An identity, an oversight body, the State’s syllabuses
In Cameroon, private education is organised in four branches: Catholic, Protestant, Islamic and lay, each with a national secretariat. Catholic education also relies on diocesan secretariats. Syllabuses and diplomas remain the State’s: a faith-based school prepares for the same exams as the others.
For software, this raises three requirements: respect each school’s identity, let one authority follow several schools, and place a religious mention only where the school wants it.
- An identity visible on every document: the school’s name, logo, colour and motto.
- Several schools, sometimes from nursery to sixth form, under one authority.
- The State’s syllabuses and exams (CEP, BEPC, probatoire, baccalaureate, GCE).
- Families whose children are in several schools of the same network.
- Donations, scholarships and discounts to be kept transparent.
Several schools under one authority
Each school has its own address, a subdomain of its own, and strictly partitioned data: a school never sees another’s. People and accounts are shared across the network, while roles are given school by school. A teacher who moves to another school keeps their account; a parent keeps a single login for all their children, even when they are spread over several schools in the network.
Schools attached to a head of network can share a network honour ranking, in which the names of students from other schools are masked. A student who moves from one school to another keeps their student number: the school of origin decides on the departure, and the history opens with its agreement. The “Network” plan is negotiated by quotation.

- A separate address and separate data for each school.
- Roles given in the school concerned only.
- Transfer within the network with the same student number.
- Network honour ranking, names masked for students from other schools.
Documents on each school’s letterhead
Report cards, certificates, attestations and cards carry the school’s logo, name, colour, town and motto. In Cameroon, the Republic’s official heading and the supervising ministry (MINEDUB or MINESEC, depending on the level) are added, and the signatory is the school’s own: head of school or principal. Text placed on the school’s colour stays legible in print, because the software works out the text colour.
Documents issued by a school whose opening authorisation has been verified carry a Sahel Shield QR Code: anyone can scan it and see whether the document is genuine, which school issued it and on what date, with no account and no app. Without a verified authorisation, the document comes out without a QR Code, and says so.

- Logo, name, colour, town and motto specific to each school.
- Official heading and supervising ministry for schools in Cameroon.
- Signatory suited to the school.
- Documents in French, English or Arabic.
Calendar, donations, scholarships and single-sex classes
The official calendar is set, then the school adds its own dates (feasts, school days), sets its day of rest and, if it wishes, keeps a Hijri calendar. A day without lessons expects no register and no clock-in. Single-sex classes (boys or girls) are possible.
Discounts, scholarships (programmes, applications, renewal with conditions, sponsorship) and a register of donations with donation receipts are kept with their history. For an Islamic school, Quran follow-up, the Arabic track, the basmala and the Hijri date (the last two optional) exist. For Catholic and Protestant schools, no module of their own is announced: the application serves the shared management of students, marks, fees and documents.

- Day of rest and school-specific dates, adjustable.
- Hijri calendar possible for an Islamic school.
- Donation receipts and a register of donations.
- Classes of boys or of girls, depending on the school.
Limits, and where to start
Sahel EDU does not replace the oversight body: it sends nothing to a national or diocesan secretariat, it produces reports and files that the school hands over itself, and it carries no label or endorsement from a religious authority or a ministry.
To start with several schools, the SAHEL AVENIR SARL team can take over your lists under the turnkey digitalisation service, a separate paid service. Each school can also start on its own, during the trial.

Frequently asked questions
Does each school keep its name, logo and colours?
Yes. The logo, name, colour, town and motto are the school’s own on its report cards, its documents and its public website.
Do schools in the same network see each other’s data?
No. Partitioning is strict, except for the history of a transferred student, which opens with the agreement of the school of origin.
Does Sahel EDU manage religious education?
For an Islamic school, Quran follow-up and the Arabic track exist. For Catholic and Protestant schools, no module of their own is announced: the application serves the shared management of students, marks, fees and documents.
Can Sahel EDU be used outside Cameroon?
Sahel EDU is today designed, validated and usable for schools in Cameroon. In another Central African country, the application already reads in French, English and Arabic and counts in CFA francs, but the country’s official levels, exams, calendars and report cards are set up with our team, school by school, before opening.
Can we try it before committing?
Yes. The free trial lasts 30 days, with no commitment. The price is then negotiated with each school and can be read on the Pricing page.
